Spending time with, and tuning into, nature whilst also enhancing drawing skills.

In this workshop we will primarily be using observational drawing as a tool of attentiveness to our natural surroundings. We will look at natural forms and processes and learn drawing techniques to creatively engage with them.

The emphasis will be on spending time with, and tuning into, nature whilst also enhancing drawing skills. We will also be drawing inspiration from some historical and archived resources.

We will explore outside to find suitable subjects to draw and/or to collect matter, then try out some drawing exercises. We will finish by creating a sustained drawing piece using the techniques we’ve learned.

Graphite pencils will be provided, and participants are free to bring along other art materials as well.

Suitable for adults and teens. Tickets are by donation via Eventbrite.

The Village Creative workshops are funded by the University of St Andrews Community Fund’.
